Ernest “EJ” Pasteur Jr. has been inducted into the Greater Lansing Sports Hall of Fame at the Lansing Center. Ernest was the co-captain for Sexton's wrestling team that took home the Class A State title in 1987, beating No. 1 Detroit Catholic Central and rival Lansing Eastern in the process. Ernest also led the team in pins in both his junior and senior seasons.
Ernest was also a star on the football field, as he co-captained Sexton and played fullback and linebacker. He was team MVP his senior season, led his team in tackles and was selected to play in the Michigan East-West All-Star football game at Spartan Stadium.
At USMA Ernest was a four-year letter man. He won a EIWA Championship and two New York Collegiate Championships while enrolled, and his performance led to a spot on the All-Army wrestling team after graduating. Using the skills he learned with the All-Army wrestling team, Ernest found himself competing in the 1993 Pan-Am Championships in Caracas, Venezuela.
