USA Rugby head coach JD Stephenson announced the roster for the 2019 U.S. Pan American Games Men's Sevens team. Among the 12 players named was former Army West Point Men's Rugby captain, Jake Lachina.
Lachina captained the men's rugby team during the 2017-18 season. He was a two-time All-Rugby East player (2016-17 First Team, 2017-18 Second Team), as well as a two-time USA Rugby All-American Honorable Mention ('16-'17,'17-18) recipient.
He posted 22 career tries during his Army 7s career, including a career high four against Notre Dame during the 2017 season at the West Point 7s Invitational. The PanAm Games will take place in Lima, Peru from July 26 to August 11. Per USA Rugby, the PanAm Games come after a remarkably successful season where the USA men qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, reached a No. 2 World Ranking and won seven tournament medals.
