Armando Interiano ’79 has published a new book titled The Black Crusade. It is historical fiction which, through its characters (a Polish nun, a Salvadoran Jesuit, and a Salvadoran West Point grad, among others) describes the religious and military battles of the time, both from an international standpoint (the Cold War, Liberation Theology) as well as a national standpoint (the effects of the Cold War and Liberation Theology on El Salvador and Nicaragua). The story ends with the murder of six Jesuit priests and two Salvadoran women on November 16, 1989. This historical fiction is based on the author's experiences and extensive research on Liberation Theology. This book was published in July 2019, and its Spanish version, La Cruzada Negra, was published in August 2019.
