Oliver J. Bell ’82 has been added to the Board of Directors at Eckerd Connects. Eckerd Connects operates Job Corps, workforce development, child welfare, and juvenile justice services across 20 states and the District of Columbia.
Bell is founder and chief executive officer of Oliver Bell Inc., a boutique labor relations consulting firm that provides a variety of employee relations and organizational effectiveness services to publicly and privately held for-profit and nonprofit companies. He also currently serves as a commissioner on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission and previously served as a member of the Texas Southern University Board of Regents. His public sector board service includes serving as chairman of the Texas Board of Criminal Justice, where he was responsible for the oversight of the $3.3 billion, 40,000-employee Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
“The sooner you can intervene in the lives of young people, the more positive and lasting impact you can have. We have the opportunity to help youth in our service areas realize there are opportunities in front of them and we are here to help them take advantage of those whenever possible,” Bell said. “I look forward to working with my fellow Board members to continue this important work.”
