MG Chris Sharpsten '88 spoke to the Department of Systems Engineering EM482 class. The cadets are focused on Supply Chain Engineering, and MG Sharpsten gave them an update on the state of the COVID vaccination efforts and the US Government program to defeat COVID (formerly known as Operation Warp Speed). Sharpsten is the Director for Supply, Production, and Distribution for the Federal COVID-19 Vaccines/Therapeutics Operation. The operation is charged with delivering 300 million doses of a safe, effective vaccine for COVID-19 as part of a broader strategy to accelerate the development, manufacturing, and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics. Other USMA 88 classmates were also in attendance to include COL John Hartke (Chair of Physics), COL Greg Ebner (Chair of Foreign Language), and LTC(R) Dan Pritchard (USMA Library).
