With NHL training camps opening up this week, three Army West Point hockey alumni received invites to compete for a spot on an NHL roster. Trevin Kozlowski ’21, Dominic Franco ’20 and Parker Gahagen ’17 - who all signed AHL contracts for the 2021-22 season - will attempt to earn a coveted roster spot throughout the next few weeks.
These three former Army standouts hope to join the list of former Army Black Knights in the NHL. That list includes Andy Lundbohm, Brad Roberts, Dan Hinote and current Army hockey Associate Head Coach, Zach McKelvie.
Trevin Kozlowski ’21 - Iowa Wild (Minnesota Wild) - Forward. Kozlowski was a 36 game winner for Coach Brian Riley in three seasons at West Point. "Trev" was the anchor of the Army defensive unit that propelled the squad to a 15-6-1 record in 2020-21, the best season at Army since 1995-96.
The Los Angeles native planted his name all over the Army hockey record book, finishing his career with the lowest goals against average in a season in program history, marking a 1.91 clip in 2020-21. Kozlowski also owns the fourth highest career save percentage in program history at a .911 mark. Read more.
