LTG(R) David F. Melcher ’76 has been appointed as Chairman of Embecta Corp. (“embecta”), a diabetes-care business serving over 30 million customers worldwide. LTG Melcher spent 32 years in the US Army serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff, G8, as the Military Deputy to the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Financial Management and Comptroller, and as the Commander of the Southwestern Division, US Army Corps of Engineers. LTG Melcher also served as the CEO of Exelis, Inc, a Fortune 500 NYSE company that was spun off from ITT Corporation, and as the CEO of Aerospace Industries Association, the Nation's premier Aerospace and Defense trade association.
