Dr. Joseph Pelosi ’73 has released Korea: From the Hermit Kingdom to the Armistice, a brief history of Korea from the time it was referred to as “The Hermit Kingdom,” continuing through the major military, social and political events which occurred before, during and after World War II, and ending with the North Korean invasion of South Korea on 25 June 1950, the negotiations for a cease fire, and the Armistice on 27 July 1953. Included are seventeen appendices which supplement the information with in the text. Two of the appendices are the reflections of two men who served with the United States Army in Korea, one during the war and one after the war, and who provided their stories to the author.
