COL(R) Van Arsdale ’74 Returns to Combat Zone

COL(R) Lee Van Arsdale ’74 received WPAOG’s Distinguished Graduate Award in May 2022. Less than two months later, he returned to a combat zone at the invitation of Dan Rice ’88, the Special Advisor to the Ukraine Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, General Valeriy Zaluzhny. The two served as unarmed dismounted observers with a Ukrainian unit in Dombas, Ukraine. This was Rice’s second trip to the Ukraine as an unpaid volunteer and his observations were published in the Small Wars Journal in May 2022.
