David Wood ’85 was promoted to Major General on 1 October 2014, and took command of the 38th Infantry Division on 18 October 2014, in a change of command ceremony in Indianapolis, Indiana. His previous assignment (since 2011) was Deputy CG (Operations), 38th ID. The outgoing commander was MG Joseph L. Culver.
