May is Small Business Appreciation Month and small business president and college professor Rick Lochner is offering to entrepreneurs and business professionals what some might say is the missing piece to success. This month, he is releasing his latest book. “The Missing Piece for Entrepreneurs – Achieving Sustainable Growth through Business Alignment” provides direction to entrepreneurial businesses looking for sustainable progress.

“I wrote this book because I see too many entrepreneurs and small business owners talking around, or speaking to, business alignment in vague terms, as if it were only something that larger businesses have to worry about.”

The book, integrates the stories of three separate entrepreneurs who, in actuality, are composites of the entrepreneurs and small business owners with whom Lochner has worked over the last twenty-five years. Readers will relate to these stories based on real people, real organizations and real events.

“In essence, this is a book about the entrepreneurial leadership required to achieve business alignment because it is through effective leadership that sustainable business growth occurs.”

After graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Lochner spent more than 30 years as a success leader in the military, Fortune 100, entrepreneurial and non-profit sectors, He aims to make leadership a way of life for himself and others.

“Since the first time I met Rick Lochner, I sensed he was far from the typical businessman. From the way he carried himself, to how he communicated to how he guided his clients, Rick had an ethos that I had a hard time deconstructing. Then I read this book!” said Joe Abraham, professional entrepreneur and founder of BOSI Global.

A small business owner himself, Lochner is president and CEO of RPC Leadership Associates, Inc. (Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce 2014 Small Business of the Year Award nominee). He is an accomplished leadership coach, keynote speaker and a visiting professor at Keller Graduate School of Management. Additionally, he leads the nationally-recognized Leadership Institute of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Lochner is also the author of “I’m Just Sayin’… Revelations for Making Leadership a Way of Life” and “The Missing Piece – Achieving Sustainable Success through Business Alignment.”
