Former Maine Attorney General Steven Rowe has been selected to head the Maine Community Foundation. Rowe, of Portland, will have the title president and chief executive officer. A board-appointed committee led by board Vice Chair Peter Lamb conducted the national search, assisted by Isaacson, Miller of Boston.n The board cited Rowe’s “significant leadership skills and his proven ability to bring people together to address pressing issues, from clean air to access to education and early childhood development.”
Rowe serves as president of Endowment for Health, a private foundation dedicated to improving the health of New Hampshire residents. Prior to that, he served as counsel at the Portland-based law firm of Verrill Dana LLP. He was Maine Attorney General from 2001 to 2009 and served in the Maine House of Representatives from 1992 to 2000. He was Speaker of the House during his last term. Read More
