Seven graduates and their guests cruised from Juneau, AK to Vancouver, BC earlier this month as part of the West Point Association of Graduates’ Travel Program. Southeastern Alaska’s natural beauty was on full display all week as their ship, the 5-star small ship M.S. L’AUSTRAL, navigated untouched coastlines, journeyed past towering mountains, and allowed travelers to have a close-up view of the diverse marine and land wildlife of the Tongass National Forest. A team of naturalists were even onboard to provide WPAOG travelers with information about the region, such as the impact of the gold rush, the heritage of the Tlingit people, and the history of Ketchikan, Sitka and other fishing towns.
