The Mission Continues has successfully engaged more than 4,000 veterans across 49 states in making successful transitions to post-military life through a counterintuitive model: volunteering to help others facing challenges such as homelessness, youth violence and obesity. Spencer Kymton ’94 President and Aaron Scheinberg ’03 Northeast Executive Director have been instrumental in enhancing the organization’s impact through two innovative and action-oriented programs: 1) The Mission Continues Fellowship Program focuses veterans’ strengths, skills and compassion and connects them to community causes where they volunteer for six months. 2) And The Mission Continues Service Platoons are teams of veterans who work together not only to solve community challenges, but also to support one another in navigating reintegration into civilian life. Kympton and Scheinberg aren’t alone among The Mission Continues’ West Point alumni: COL John Tien ’87 is also active on The Mission Continues’ board.
