LTC Cullen Jones, PE, PMP, LEED Green Associate, ENV SP, a Training with Industry (TWI) fellow with Dewberry, has been promoted from Major to Lieutenant Colonel by the U.S. Army. Jones also received the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Washington, D.C. Post’s Outstanding Contributions by Young Military Member Award and its nomination for SAME's national Sverdrup Medal.
Jones was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel on February 6, 2016, at the Fort Belvoir Officer’s Club. TWI sponsor Maj. Gen. Michael Walsh (Ret.), Dewberry’s director of water resources and coastal resiliency, presided over Jones’ promotion ceremony. In attendance were Dewberry CEO Donald E. Stone, Jr., PE; Dewberry Vice President and fellow TWI sponsor Col. Grant Smith (Ret.), PE, PMP, CFM; Jones’ family; and colleagues from his past 16 years of service in the U.S. Army.
Jones was also honored with SAME Washington, D.C. Post's Outstanding Contributions by Young Military Member plaque on January 14, 2016, at the National Press Club during its 20th Annual Awards Luncheon. Dewberry Vice President and Principal Neal T. Wright, PE, PMP, F.SAME, F.ASCE, F.NSPE, nominated Jones for the award, stating that, “Maj.
