Major General Daniel L. Karbler ’87, commanding general of the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, or ATEC, commissioned Alexandra R. Noack, a West Point graduate, to second lieutenant April 25 at ATEC Headquarters. Prior to being commissioned, Noack, who is Karbler's niece, was in a year-long medical hold status after she suffered a seizure four days before her graduation from the military academy. After being on medical hold for a year, Noack was reassessed in February. Following her doctor's recommendation, West Point issued its approval for Noack to be commissioned as an officer.

While at the military academy, Noack was a member of the West Point Crew team. In May 2015, she graduated from West Point with a bachelor's degree in American politics. Noack is currently a program intern at ATEC responsible for assisting senior program analysts on ATEC system teams. In June Noack will attend the Air Defense Artillery Basic Officer Leader Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Karbler expressed how proud he is of his niece’s accomplishments and describes her as a wonderful young lady and an officer who is smart, possesses a terrific sense of humor, and has an unbelievable drive to persevere; qualities, he said, he believes are the makings of a great leader in the U.S. Army.
