Mackin ’88 Appointed Director of Opsens

Opsens Inc. announced the appointment of Mr. Pat Mackin as a Director of the Company. "We are delighted to see Pat, a renowned leader in the medical device industry, join us. His expertise as head of leading companies in the cardiovascular space will be valuable as we step up from limited market release to a wider one," said Louis Laflamme, President and CEO of Opsens. Pat Mackin brings over 25 years of experience in the medical device industry. Since September 2014, Mr. Mackin has been President and Chief Executive Officer of CryoLife, Inc., a leader in the manufacturing, processing, and distribution of implantable living tissues and medical devices used in cardiac surgical procedures.

Before joining CryoLife, he was President of the Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management Division at Medtronic, Inc. Previously, also at Medtronic, he held the positions of Vice President, Vascular, Western Europe where he launched the Company's first drug-eluding stent called "Endeavour" and Vice President and General Manager, Endovascular Business Unit. Prior to joining Medtronic, Mr. Mackin worked for six years at Genzyme, Inc. serving as Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Cardiovascular Surgery Business Unit and as Director of Sales, Surgical Products division. Before joining Genzyme, Mr. Mackin spent five years at Deknatel/Snowden-Pencer, Inc. in various sales and marketing roles and three years as an Officer in the U.S. Army.
