The National Defense Authorization Act of 2017 included direction to the Department of Defense to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Solider (TUS100). Coordinated by the efforts of the Society of the Honor Guard Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, planning includes a number of projects by federal, state, regional, local governments, individuals and private sector organizations to build “Never Forget Gardens” across the U.S.; have a USPS stamp to commemorate the centennial; commemorative lapel pins; and coins to commemorate that for which the Tomb represents; and for persons and organizations to observe a “moment of silence” at 11am on November 11, 2021.
