The West Point Society of Annapolis (WPSOA) hosted its annual Welcome Picnic at the Fairwinds Community Pavilion, Severna Park, MD, to introduce the fall exchange cadets to the Annapolis area on August 29. The seven exchange cadets, all from the class of 2023, will spend the fall semester at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. In all, more than 60 guests attended the event and welcomed the cadets who enjoyed a picnic catered by Mission BBQ. WPSOA President Steve Heinecke addressed the assemblage, commented on the society's 35-year history and introduced three of the society's founders, Bob Moore ’58, Bob Stroud ’68 and Bill Taylor ‘70. Steve then explained the annual welcome picnic tradition, mentioned the upcoming Affirmation Ceremony/Dinner and invited the cadets to introduce themselves. A great time was enjoyed by all attendees.
