COL Barnes ’90 One of Forbes Most Notable AI Leaders

Congratulations to COL David Barnes ’90 who was recently recognized as one of the 15 most notable AI leaders by Forbes. Barnes is the outgoing Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of English and Philosophy at the United States Military Academy, Chief AI Ethics Officer, Army’s Artificial Intelligence (AI), Integration Center (AI2C), serves on the Board of Directors for the International Society for Military Ethics (ISME), and author of The Ethics of Military Privatization: The US Armed Contractor Phenomenon. In addition to his life of service to his country, COL Barnes' work focuses on how to include more diverse, rigorous, and meaningful conversation surrounding the responsible design, development, and deployment of AI systems among government, industry, and academia.
