Today we recognize National Medal of Honor Day to honor those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. National Medal of Honor Day is celebrated every year on March 25; in honor of the first time, it was awarded on March 25, 1863. The medal is the highest honor for military valor in action, and more than 3,500 people have received the award. 77 West Point Graduates have received this honor.
