Kerry Figiel has been named a TAPPI Fellow for 2015. He is currently Corporate QCS Champion for International Paper. Fellow is an honorary title bestowed upon a very small percentage of TAPPI’s membership. It is given to individuals who have made extraordinary technical or service contributions to the industry and/or the Association. The 2015 Fellows Class was honored at the TAPPI Fellows Luncheon on Sunday, April 19, 2015, held in conjunction with the PaperCon 2015 meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
“During a long and distinguished career, Kerry Figiel has made significant contributions to the paper industry by his many accomplishments in the fields of quality and process control, as well as by his dedication and hard work as a member of TAPPI,” said Larry N. Montague, president and CEO of TAPPI. “In more than 20 years of service to TAPPI, his leadership and hard work have been instrumental in the development and growth of the Process Control Division and its members. He’s an outstanding choice for the Fellows Award.”
An active TAPPI member for over 20 years, he’s served in several leadership roles including Process Control Division Chairman and Conference Chairman for PaperCon 2013 and is currently Technical Program Chair for the Process Control Division. Figiel co-authored the Division’s handbook entitled “Paper Machine Quality Control System Volume I - Measurement Systems and Product Variability.”
