Brigadier General John G. Ferrari '87 was promoted to Major General on April 17, 2015 at a ceremony in the Pentagon Hall of Heroes. Presiding over the ceremony was General (Ret) Benjamin S. Griffin. He is currently assigned as the Director of Army Program Analysis and Evaluation, Headquarters Department of the Army, Deputy Chief of Staff G-8. Major General Ferrari previously served as the Commanding General of the White Sands Missile Range and was Deputy Commander for Programs in the NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan. In addition to serving in Afghanistan, his overseas tours include Germany, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Major General Ferrari served in the National Security Division of the Office of Management and Budget and from July 1996 to June 1999 was an Instructor, later Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at USMA. He earned an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. General (Ret) Griffin commanded both the 4th Infantry Division and the Army Materiel Command (AMC). Major General Ferrari and General Griffin worked together in the Army G-8 and at AMC.
