The 59th Superintendent of the United States Military Academy, Lt. Gen. Robert L. Caslen Jr., hosted the Board of Living Superintendents, April 26-29. The board included four previous superintendents, retired Lt. Gens. Daniel W. Christman, William J. Lennox, Jr., Franklin L. Hagenbeck, and David H. Huntoon, Jr. The event consisted of a series of briefings to the former Superintendents covering command selected topics, USMA programs and oral history interview and ended with a walking tour of the construction of the Gen. Benjamin O. Davis Barracks. The culminating event was the panel discussion, with the Class of 2015 in attendance. The title of the panel was “An Evening with West Point Superintendents: Years of a Century Told," and was held at Eisenhower Hall Theatre at West Point, April 28. The panel was moderated by Chris Wallace, and closed with a question and answer session with the graduating class. Topics discussed during the panel and question and answer session included, how the academy has changed throughout history, the superintendent's biggest challenge while in position, what West Point means to them, and what was the funniest spirit mission the superintendents saw while they were the head of the Academy.
