Over the past two months, Forbes scoured the country for the best veteran-owned startups in the nation. They asked venture capitalists, angel investors, veteran founders and industry experts. 85 nominations were culled based on five factors - prior 12-month revenues, previous 12-24 month revenues, revenue growth rate, employee headcount and external capital raised. To qualify, startups must be for-profit companies, no more than five years old, and at least 50% owned by or operationally controlled by a military veteran founder. Upon hearing the news, Ron Steptoe ’87 wrote to his team, "I am so proud of the WCH Executive Team, Advisors, Technology Partners, and Technical Contractors. Now, let's get back to business of improving the health and healthcare of the nation's veteran and military communities."
